Good news for Google TV fans who want games: OnLive, the game streaming company, is going to be on all Google TV devices starting now. For the unfamiliar, OnLive is a service like Netflix where video is streamed from the cloud to your home, but instead of just plain movies, they're games, where the processing is done on servers and controls are done at home. Confused? Check out my review of their service last year.
With Google TVs, all you need to do is download the OnLive Viewer App and you'll be able to spectate games. Full gameplay control is coming soon, says OnLive, and will support the wireless controllers that the service just released. So if you're trying to decide between different streaming devices like Google TV, Apple TV, Roku, and Boxee, this might put you over the edge in favor of Google.
And speaking of OnLive, if they can put their Windows streaming functionality onto Google TV?and I don't see a big reason why they can't, seeing as it's just streaming video?being able to control a desktop on your computer is pretty saucy.
